What to Say After Salah: 22 Dhikr and Salawat

After Salah #1

أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللهَ (3) اَللّٰهُمَّ أَنْتَ السَّلَامُ ، وَمِنْكَ السَّلَامُ ، تَبَارَكْتَ يَا ذَا الْجَلَالِ وَالْإِكْرَامِ

Astaghfiru-llāh (x3), Allāhumma Anta-s-Salām, wa minka-s-salām, tabārakta yā Dha-l-Jalāli wa-l-Ikrām.

I seek the forgiveness of Allah. O Allah, You are The Flawless and The Source of Peace, and from You comes peace. Blessed are You, full of Majesty and Honour.

After Salah #2

لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيْكَ لَهُ ، لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ وَهُوَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيْرٌ ، اَللّٰهُمَّ لَا مَانِعَ لِمَا أَعْطَيْتَ ، وَلَا مُعْطِيَ لِمَا مَنَعْتَ ، وَلَا يَنْفَعُ ذَا الْجَـدِّ مِنْكَ الْجَـدُّ

Lā ilāha illā-llāhu waḥdahū lā sharīka lah, lahu-l-mulku, wa lahu-l-ḥamd, wa Huwa ʿalā kulli shay’in Qadīr, Allāhumma lā māniʿa li-mā aʿaṭayt, wa lā muʿṭiya li-mā manʿat, wa lā yanfaʿu dha-l-jaddi minka-l-jadd.

There is no god but Allah. He is Alone and He has no partner whatsoever. To Him Alone belong all sovereignty and all praise. He is over all things All-Powerful. O Allah, there is none who can withhold what You give, and none can give what You withhold; and the wealth of the wealthy does not avail them against You.

After Salah #3

لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيْكَ لَهُ ، لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ وَهُوَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيْرٌ ، لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللهِ ، لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا اللهُ ، وَلَا نَعْبُدُ إِلَّا إيَّاهُ ، لَهُ النِّعْمَةُ وَلَهُ الْفَضْلُ وَلَهُ الثَّنَاءُ الْحَسَنُ ، لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا اللهُ مُخْلِصِيْنَ لَهُ الدِّيْنَ ، وَلَوْ كَرِهَ الْكَافِرُوْنَ

Lā ilāha illā-llāhu waḥdahū lā sharīka lah, lahu-l-mulku, wa lahu-l-ḥamd, wa Huwa ʿalā kulli shay’in Qadīr, lā ḥawla wa lā quwwata illā bi-llāh, lā ilāha illā-llāh, wa lā naʿbudu illā iyyāh, lahu-n-nʿimatu wa lahu-l-faḍl, wa lahu-th-thanā’u-l-ḥasan, lā ilāha illā-llāhu mukhliṣīna lahu-d-dīn, wa law kariha-l-kāfirūn.

There is no god but Allah. He is Alone and He has no partner whatsoever. To Him Alone belong all sovereignty and all praise. He is over all things All-Powerful. There is no power (in averting evil) or strength (in attaining good) except through Allah. There is no god but Allah, and we do not worship any other besides Him. To Him Alone belong grace, bounteousness and noble praise. There is no god but Allah. We sincerely devote our religion for Him, even though the disbelievers may dislike it.

After Salah #4

اَللَّٰهُمَّ أَعِنِّيْ عَلَىٰ ذِكْرِكَ وَشُكْرِكَ وَحُسْنِ عِبَادَتِكَ

Allāhumma aʿinnī ʿalā dhikrika wa shukrika wa ḥusni ʿibādatik.

O Allah, help me in remembering You, in being grateful to You, and in worshipping You in an excellent manner.

After Salah #5

اَللّٰهُمَّ إِنِّيْ أَعُوْذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْبُخْلِ ، وَأَعُوْذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْجُبْنِ ، وَأَعُوْذُ بِكَ مِنْ أَنْ أُرَدَّ إِلََىٰ أَرْذَلِ الْعُمُرِ ، وَأَعُوْذُ بِكَ مِنْ فِتْنَةِ الدُّنْيَا ، وأَعُوْذُ بِكَ مِنْ عَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ

Allāhumma innī aʿūdhu bika mina-l-bukhl, wa aʿūdhu bika mina-l-jubn, wa aʿūdhu bika min an uradda ilā ardhali-l-ʿumur, wa aʿūdhu bika min fitnati-d-dunyā, wa aʿūdhu bika min ʿadhābi-l-qabr.

O Allah, I seek Your protection from miserliness and I seek Your protection from cowardice. I seek Your protection from being sent back to a miserable old age. I seek Your protection from the trials of the world and I seek Your protection from the punishment of the grave.

After Salah #6

سُبْحَانَ اللهِ (x33) ، اَلْحَمْدُ للهِ (x33)، اَللهُ أَكْبَرُ (x33)

(x1) لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيْكَ لَهُ ، لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ ، وَهُوَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيْرٌ

Subḥāna-llāh (x33), alḥamduli-llāh (x33), Allāhu akbar (x33), Lā ilāha illā Allāhu waḥdahū lā sharīka lah, lahu-l-mulku wa lahu-l-ḥamd, wa Huwa ʿalā kulli shay’in Qadīr. (x1)

Allah is free from imperfection. All praise be to Allah. Allah is the Greatest. There is no god but Allah. He is Alone and He has no partner whatsoever. To Him Alone belong all sovereignty and all praise. He is over all things All-Powerful.

After Salah #7

اَللهُ لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ الْحَيُّ الْقَيُّومُ ، لَا تَأْخُذُهُ سِنَةٌ وَلَا نَوْمٌ ، لَهُ مَا فِي السَّمٰوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الْأَرْضِ ، مَنْ ذَا الَّذِيْ يَشْفَعُ عِنْدَهُ إِلَّا بِإِذْنِهِ ، يَعْلَمُ مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِيْهِمْ وَمَا خَلْفَهُمْ وَلَا يُحِيْطُوْنَ بِشَيْءٍ مِّنْ عِلْمِهِ إِلَّا بِمَا شَاءَ ، وَسِعَ كُرْسِيُّهُ السَّمٰوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ وَلَا يَئُوْدُهُُ حِفْظُهُمَا وَهُوَ الْعَلِيُّ الْعَظِيْمُ

Allāhu lā ilāha illā Huwa-l-Ḥayyu-l-Qayyūm, lā ta’khudhuhū sinatuw-wa lā nawm, lahū mā fi-s-samāwāti wa mā fi-l-arḍ, man dhā’lladhī yashfaʿu ʿindahū illā bi-idhnih, yaʿlamu mā bayna aydīhim wa mā khalfahum, wa lā yuḥīṭūna bi-shay’im-min ʿilmihī illā bi-mā shā’, wasiʿa kursiyyuhu-s-samāwāti wa-l-arḍ, wa lā ya’ūduhū ḥifẓuhumā wa Huwa-l-ʿAlliyu-l-ʿAẓīm.

Allah, there is no god but He, the Ever Living, the One Who sustains and protects all that exists. Neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep. To Him Alone belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who is it that can intercede with Him except with His permission? He knows what is before them and what will be after them, and they encompass not a thing of His knowledge except for what He wills. His Kursī extends over the heavens and the earth, and their preservation tires Him not. And He is the Most High, the Most Great. (2:255)

After Salah #8

قُلْ هُوَ اللهُ أَحَدٌ ، اَللهُ الصَّمَدُ ، لَمْ يَلِدْ وَلَمْ يُوْلَدْ ، وَلَمْ يَكُنْ لَّهُ كُفُوًا أَحَدٌ

قُلْ أَعُوْذُ بِرَبِّ الْفَلَقِ ، مِنْ شَرِّ مَا خَلَقَ ، وَمِنْ شَرِّ غَاسِقٍ إِذَا وَقَبَ ، وَمِنْ شَرِّ النَّفَّاثَاتِ فِي الْعُقَدِ ، وَمِنْ شَرِّ حَاسِدٍ إِذَا حَسَدَ

قُلْ أَعُوْذُ بِرَبِّ النَّاسِ ، مَلِكِ النَّاسِ ، إِلٰهِ النَّاسِ ، مِنْ شَرِّ الْوَسْوَاسِ الْخَنَّاسِ ، اَلَّذِيْ يُوَسْوِسُ فِيْ صُدُوْرِ النَّاسِ ، مِنَ الْجِنَّةِ وَالنَّاسِ

Bismi-llāhi-r-Raḥmāni-r-Raḥīm Qul Huwa-llāhu Aḥad. Allāhu-ṣ-Ṣamad. Lam yalid wa lam yūlad. Wa lam yakul-lahū kufuwan aḥad. Bismi-llāhi-r-Raḥmāni-r-Raḥīm. Qul aʿūdhu bi Rabbi-l-falaq. Min sharri mā khalaq. Wa min sharri ghāsiqin idhā waqab. Wa min sharri-n-naffāthāti fi-l-ʿuqad. Wa min sharri ḥāsidin idhā ḥasad. Bismi-llāhi-r-Raḥmāni-r-Raḥīm Qul aʿūdhu bi rabbi-n-nās. Maliki-n-nās. Ilāh-hin-nās. Min sharri-l-waswāsi-l-khannās. Al-ladhī yuwaswisu fī ṣudūri-n-nās. Mina-l-jinnati wa-n-nās.

Say, He is Allah, the One, the Self-Sufficient Master, Who has not given birth and was not born, and to Whom no one is equal. (112) Say, I seek protection of the Lord of the daybreak, from the evil of what He has created, and from the evil of the darkening night when it settles, and from the evil of the blowers in knots, and from the evil of the envier when he envies. (113) Say, I seek protection of the Lord of mankind, the King of mankind, the God of mankind, from the evil of the whisperer who withdraws, who whispers in the hearts of mankind, whether they be Jinn or people. (114)

After Salah #9

سُبْحَانَكَ وَبِحَمْدِكَ ، لَا إِلٰه إِلَّا أَنْتَ ، أَسْتَغْفِرُكَ وَأَتُوْبُ إِلَيْكَ

Subḥānaka wa bi ḥamdik, lā ilāha illā Ant, astaghfiruka wa atūbu ilayk.

You are free from imperfection, and all praise is to You. There is no god but You. I seek Your forgiveness and turn to You in repentance.

To be Read after Fajr & Maghrib #1

(10X) لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيْكَ لَهُ ، لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ يُحْيِيْ وَيُمِيْتُ ، وَهُوَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيْرٌ

Lā ilāha illā-llāhu waḥdahū lā sharīka lah, lahu-l-mulku wa lahu-l-ḥamdu yuḥyī wa yumīt, wa Huwa ʿalā kulli shay’in Qadīr

To be Read after Fajr & Maghrib #2

اَللّٰهُمَّ أَجِرْنِيْ مِنَ النَّارِ

Allāhumma ajirnī mina-n-nār.

O Allah, protect me from the Hell-fire.

To be Read after Fajr

اَللّٰهُمَّ إِنِّيْ أَسْأَلُكَ عِلْمًا نَافِعًا ، وَرِزْقًا طَيِّبًا ، وَعَمَلًا مُتَقَبَّلًا

Allāhumma innī as’aluka ʿilma-n-nāfiʿā, wa rizqan ṭayyibā, wa ʿamalam-mutaqabbalā.

O Allah, I ask You for beneficial knowledge, wholesome sustenance, and deeds which are accepted.

To be Read after Witr

(3X) سُبْحَانَ الْمَلِكِ الْقُدُّوْسِ

Subḥāna-l-Maliki-l-Quddūs.

How perfect is the Sovereign, the Most Holy.

Salawat #1

اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَّعَلَىٰ اٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ ، كَمَا صَلَّيْتَ عَلَىٰ إِبْرَاهِيْمَ وَعَلَىٰ اٰلِ إِبْرَاهِيْمَ ، إِنَّكَ حَمِيْدٌ مَّجِيْدٌ ، اَللّٰهُمَّ بَارِكْ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَّعَلَىٰ اٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ ، كَمَا بَارَكْتَ عَلَىٰ إِبْرَاهِيْمَ وَعَلَىٰ اٰلِ إِبْرَاهِيْمَ ، إِنَّكَ حَمِيْدٌ مَّجِيْدٌ

Allāhumma ṣalli ʿalā Muḥammad wa ʿalā āli Muḥammad, kamā ṣallayta ʿalā Ibrāhīma wa ʿalā āli Ibrāhīm, innaka Ḥamīdu-m-Majīd, Allāhumma bārik ʿalā Muḥammad, wa ʿalā āli Muḥammad, kamā bārakta ʿalā Ibrāhīma wa ʿalā āli Ibrāhīm, innaka Ḥamīdu-m-Majīd.

O Allah, honour and have mercy upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad as You have honoured and had mercy upon Ibrāhīm and the family of Ibrāhīm. Indeed, You are the Most Praiseworthy, the Most Glorious. O Allah, bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad as You have blessed Ibrāhīm and the family of Ibrāhīm. Indeed, You are the Most Praiseworthy, the Most Glorious.

Salawat #2

اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَّعَلَىٰ اٰلِ بَيْتِهِ ، كَمَا صَلَّيْتَ عَلَىٰ اٰلِ إِبْرَاهِيْمَ ، إِنَّكَ حَمِيْدٌ مَّجِيْدٌ ، اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَيْنَا مَعَهُمْ ، اَللّٰهُمَّ بَارِكْ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَّعَلَىٰ اٰلِ بَيْتِهِ ، كَمَا بَارَكْتَ عَلَىٰ اٰلِ إِبْرَاهِيْمَ ، إِنَّكَ حَمِيْدٌ مَّجِيْدٌ ، اَللّٰهُمَّ بَارِكْ عَلَيْنَا مَعَهُمْ ، صَلَوَاتُ اللّٰهِ وَصَلَاةُ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ النَّبيِّ الْأُمِّيِّ

Allāhumma ṣalli ʿalā Muḥammad wa ʿalā āli baytih, kamā ṣallayta ʿalā āli Ibrāhīm, innaka Ḥamīdu-m-Majīd, Allāhumma ṣalli ʿalayna maʿahum, Allāhumma bārik ʿalā Muḥammad wa ʿalā āli baytih, kamā bārakta ʿalā āli Ibrāhīm, innaka Ḥamīdu-m-Majīd, Allāhumma bārik ʿalaynā maʿahum, ṣalawātu-llāhi wa ṣalātul-mu’minīna ʿalā Muḥammadi-nin-Nabiyyil-ummiyy.

O Allah, honour and have mercy upon Muhammad and his household, as You have honoured and had mercy upon the family of Ibrāhīm. Indeed, You are the Most Praiseworthy, the Most Glorious. O Allah, honour and have mercy upon us alongside them. O Allah, bless Muhammad and his household as You have blessed the family of Ibrāhīm. Indeed You are the Most Praiseworthy, the Most Glorious. O Allah, bless us alongside them. May the blessings of Allah and the prayers of the believers be for Muhammad, the unlettered Prophet.

Salawat #3

اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَّأَزْوَاجِهِ وَذُرِّيَّتِهِ ، كَمَا صَلَّيْتَ عَلَىٰ اٰلِ إِبْرَاهِيْمَ ، وَبَارِكْ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَّأَزْوَاجِهِ وَذُرِّيَّتِهِ ، كَمَا بَارَكْتَ عَلَىٰ اٰلِ إِبْرَاهِيْمَ ، إِنَّكَ حَمِيْدٌ مَّجِيْدٌ

Allāhumma ṣalli ʿalā Muḥammadiw-wa azwājihī wa dhurriy-yatih, kamā ṣallayta ʿalā āli Ibrāhīm, wa bārik ʿalā Muḥammadi-w-wa azwājihī wa dhurriyyatih, kamā bārakta ʿalā āli Ibrāhīm, innaka Ḥamīdu-m-Majīd.

O Allah, honour and have mercy upon Muhammad, his spouses and his progeny as You have honoured and had mercy on the family of Ibrāhīm. Bless Muhammad, his spouses and his progeny as You have blessed the family of Ibrāhīm. Indeed, You are the Most Praiseworthy, the Most Glorious.

Salawat #4

اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَّعَلَىٰ اٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ ، كَمَا صَلَّيْتَ عَلَىٰ اٰلِ إِبْرَاهِيْمَ ، وَبَارِكْ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَّعَلَىٰ اٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ ، كَمَا بَارَكْتَ عَلَىٰ اٰلِ إِبْرَاهِيْمَ فِي الْعَالَمِيْنَ ، إِنَّكَ حَمِيْدٌ مَّجِيْدٌ

Allāhumma ṣalli ʿalā Muḥammad wa ʿalā āli Muḥammad, kamā ṣallayta ʿalā āli Ibrāhīm, wa bārik ʿalā Muḥammad, kamā bārakta ʿalā āli Ibrāhīma fi-l-ʿālamīn, innaka Ḥamīdu-m-Majīd.

Salawat #5

Allāhumma ṣalli ʿalā Muḥammad wa ʿalā āli Muḥammad, wa bārik ʿalā Muḥammad wa ʿalā āli Muḥammad, kamā bārakta ʿalā Ibrāhīma fi-l-ʿālamīn, innaka Ḥamīdu-m-Majīd.

O Allah, honour and have mercy upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, and bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad as You have blessed Ibrāhīm in the worlds. Indeed, You are the Most Praiseworthy, the Most Glorious.

Salawat #6

اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ عَبْدِكَ وَرَسُوْلِكَ ، كَمَا صَلَّيْتَ عَلَىٰ اٰلِ إبْراهِيْمَ ، وَبَارِكْ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَّعَلَىٰ اٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ ، كَمَا بَارَكْتَ عَلَىٰ إبْرَاهِيْمَ

Allāhumma ṣalli ʿalā Muḥammad ʿabdika wa rasulik, kamā ṣallayta ʿalā āli Ibrāhīm, wa bārik ʿalā Muḥammad wa ʿalā āli Muḥammad, kamā bārakta ʿalā Ibrāhīm.

O Allah, honour and have mercy upon Muhammad, Your servant and Messenger, as You have honoured and had mercy upon the family of Ibrāhīm. Bless Muhammad and his household as You have blessed Ibrāhīm.

Salawat #7

اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَّعَلَىٰ اٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ ، كَما صَلَّيْتَ عَلَىٰ اٰلِ إبْراهِيْمَ إنَّكَ حَمِيْدٌ مَّجِيْدٌ ، اَللّٰهُمَّ بَارِكْ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَّعَلَىٰ اٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ ، كَمَا بارَكْتَ عَلَىٰ اٰلِ إِبْرَاهِيْمَ ، إِنَّكَ حَمِيْدٌ مَّجِيْدٌ

Salawat #8

اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ النَّبِيِّ الأُمِّيِّ وَعَلَىٰ اٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ ، كَمَا صَلَّيْتَ عَلَىٰ إبْرَاهِيْمَ وَاٰلِ إبْرَاهِيْمَ ، وَبَارِكْ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ النَّبِيِّ الأُمِّيِّ ، كَمَا بارَكْتَ عَلَىٰ إبْرَاهِيْمَ وَعَلَىٰ اٰلِ إِبْرَاهِيْمَ ، إِنَّكَ حَمِيْدٌ مَّجِيْدٌ

Allāhumma ṣalli ʿalā Muḥammadi-nin-Nabiyyil-ummiyy wa ʿalā āli Muḥammad, kamā ṣallayta ʿalā Ibrāhīm, wa āli Ibrāhīma, wa bārik ʿalā Muḥammadi-nin-Nabiyyil-ummiyy, kamā bārakta ʿalā Ibrāhīma wa ʿalā āli Ibrāhīma, innaka Ḥamīdu-m-Majīd.

Salawat #9

اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَّعَلَىٰ اٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ

Allāhumma ṣalli ʿalā Muḥammad wa ʿalā āli Muḥammad.
